Will Smith plays the Genie
For the moment, it is necessary to be content with these few images. Disney called on British director Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes), Madonna's former companion with whom she had two children, to bring the characters of the imaginary city of Agrabah to life.
The main role is played by Mena Massoud, a 27-year-old Canadian of Egyptian descent, who played the small roles on television. Three other adaptations of Disney classics in live action movies are also in preparation: Mulan, with a mainly Chinese cast, much to the relief of the fans, Dumbo, directed by Tim Burton, and The Lion King, where Beyoncé will be casting.
