All Android smartphones will be able to take advantage of Google's real-time translation tool.
(CCM) - The tool developed by Google allows to listen - in real time - the translation of a speaker who speaks in a foreign language. After limiting this feature to its only home headphones, Pixel Buds, Google has decided to roll out its instant translation app to all Android smartphones.
To take advantage of the new feature, it is now sufficient to have an Android smartphone and have installed Google Assistant, as detailed our fellow Figaro. Google's voice assistant serves as an interface to exchange "live" with a foreign interlocutor. Everyone speaks their own language and Google Translate translates the conversation in real time. 40 languages are available, including French. That's what it gives on video:
Google says that many headphones help fluidify this new way of speaking in a foreign language. The Pixel Buds headphones, of course, but also the LG Tone SE, the Sony 1000XM2 and other models are among the devices optimized to support this innovation. In addition to Google, many start-ups offer their own real-time translation smart headphones.
