A young woman who lost her triplets at 21 weeks of pregnancy received an application for reimbursement of social security for an overpayment of her maternity leave allowances.
Giving birth to dead triplets is an unnamed trauma. At this drama Megane Baltics had to cash another ordeal. The Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM) summoned the 23-year-old woman to repay an overpayment of 845 euros in maternity leave allowances. The newspaper of Saône-et-Loire which reports the information explains the origin of this administrative muddle: The young woman would have received daily allowances for maternity, whereas she should have been compensated for the sickness. But the problem would not have arisen if Megane had suffered her miscarriage at five months (22 weeks of pregnancy)... But the young woman lost her babies at 21 weeks and six days. "According to them, I gave birth one day too soon, indignant Megane in the local newspaper. I consider it a total injustice! "
Megane has decided to challenge this request for reimbursement of the CPAM Saône-et-Loire and has since acknowledged its administrative blunder and made its mea culpa, as shown in this tweet. "We deplore our lack of empathy and have already proposed mediation for a humanly acceptable solution."
Problem, meditation cannot take place because of Megane's protest process. It is for the Court of Social Security Affairs to decide on this dossier according to the Journal of Saône-et-Loire. A public hearing was scheduled to take place on October 11th, but Megane's lawyer got the file back at a later date.
